The Pittsburgh Steelers revealed the jersey numbers for the draft class of 2022 earlier this offseason, which has already got fans talking about the prospect of how well those donning said jerseys will do. A lot gets said when jersey numbers are released by NFL teams, especially the ones that represent the draft class.
There's a lot to be said about numbers found on the back of sports tops. For many, it's extremely important, and believe it or not; jersey numbers can even play a part when fans are betting on NFL matches as they can blindly support players based on their jersey number. So, getting the jersey numbers right, especially for a draft class, is more crucial than some may think.
Chris Oladokun #5
Oladokun, 24, made it through college football at South Florida and then Samford, with South Dakota State in the final stage of the quarterback's journey before being draft pick 241 in round 7, where the Steelers picked up the 6’2” Florida-born rookie.

Kenny Pickett #8
Pickett is a quarterback who doesn’t really need much of an introduction based on the list of personal accolades he already has to his name. The 24-year-old, who came through Oakhurst at high school level before winning the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award at the University of Pittsburgh, is destined for the top.

George Pickens #14
George Pickens, 21, is a wide receiver who was a second-round pick for the Steelers in the NFL Draft 2022. Standing at 6’3”, after a college football career with Georgia between 2019 and 2021, he’s expected to come to the forefront after tearing his ACL last year, which hampered his development somewhat.

Calvin Austin III #19
Austin, 23, hails from Memphis, Tennessee, and played at college level for Memphis for five years too. After scoring two First Team All-AAC accolades in 2020 and 2021, the Steelers took the plunge in round four of the draft on the wide receiver, who was pick 138 overall.

Connor Heyward #83
Tight end and fullback Connor Heyward was pick 208 in the sixth round of the draft after impressing for Michigan State during college. At close to 6’0”, there is a belief that the 23-year-old could have a stellar career in the NFL.

Mark Robinson #93
22-year-old Mark Robinson joined the Steelers after being selected in the seventh round of the draft. The linebacker, who has arrived and since began working on his game as an inside linebacker, where he played at Ole Miss, believes this is what will get him playing time on the field.

DeMarvin Leal #98
DeMarvin Leal, 22, hails from San Antonio, Texas, and was selected by the Steelers as the 84th overall pick in the third round of the draft to play as a defensive end. Like many others, Leal already has accolades to his name and will be looking to add to them in the coming seasons.
