The Pittsburgh Steelers captured a huge win over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday as the group was able to regain the lead in the AFC North. The two teams will meet one more time at the end of the regular season, but this game was extremely important when it comes to who will be representing the AFC North in the playoffs. Pittsburgh now has the upper hand, and the group will look to carry some of this momentum into its next game. A big reason for the win was the play of quarterback Aaron Rodgers. He played better than he had in months, and he looked more than comfortable.

Rodgers looked great moving around in the backfield and extending plays, and he was able to move the ball down the field fairly consistently. The quarterback completed 23 passes for nearly 300 yards and a touchdown, and he also ran in a score as well on the team's opening drive. He is still playing with some fractured bones in his wrist, but he looked miles better than he did in Week 13 against the Buffalo Bills

After the Ravens game, Rodgers spoke with the media and was asked about how he was feeling and what it was that made him look so flawless in the win over Baltimore.

"Yeah, I mean some games you feel better than others," Rodgers said. "I was just telling the linemen, 'You'll understand this when you're 40; some days you'll feel better than others.' Some days you feel great, other days are just good. Today I felt great, maybe because it got such a beautiful grass field, but I felt good moving around out there. And to be able to run in a touchdown, it's been a long time there, and that was in no way the play at all."

The veteran quarterback spoke about his age and how he never knows how he is going to feel on any given day, but he also threw in a subtle little shot to Art Rooney II and the rest of the ownership group for the Steelers. He commented on how nice the playing surface was in Baltimore, which is interesting considering all of the controversy that has surrounded the playing surface in Pittsburgh.

The playing surface in Baltimore is one of the nicest surfaces in the league. It is natural Bermuda grass, which is something the organization wanted to switch to from artificial turf. The change was made back in 2016, with player safety being one of the important points as to why the decision was made. The Ravens were ahead of the curve in that regard, and there are still teams around the league that have not learned their lesson.

Baltimore has a specialized team that comes in and replaces the grass with fresh grass harvested in North Carolina. This maintenance is performed after big events that could compromise the playing surface, including concerts or a string of football games. Pittsburgh has a natural playing surface as well, but the maintenance is where there is usually an issue. The field has not held up well, and the playing surface needs to be tended to more often than it is. That is possibly the message behind Rodgers' comment.

Steelers And Rest Of The League Will Be On The Same Page With Playing Surfaces Soon Enough

Currently, playing surfaces around the league are very different, which is a common talking point for players criticizing the league. The NFLPA has been trying to find a way to fix this issue, and now it was announced that the league is implementing a new quality control system when it comes to surfaces. All playing surfaces are going to have to meet new safety standards by the 2028 season, which also includes maintenance of the playing surface.

Acrisure Stadium will probably have to make some changes to comply with the league, but it will be for the betterment of the players.
