It wasn't the outcome that the Pittsburgh Steelers or Zach Banner wanted when they re-signed him following his injury last season in 2019. He was supposed to come back healthy in 2020 and resume his starting right tackle position that he had won in 2019.

Instead, Banner never fully recovered from his ACL surgery, and he's continued to suffer setbacks from his injury. Banner was released by the Steelers a few weeks ago because he's still not recovered from his injury. The move also saved them $5 million on the salary cap.
Banner moved back to California last week, but he posted this message on his social media today:
